Buttlar & Partner was founded in 1959 by Dr. Hellmuth W. Schmid. The law firm initially focussed on commercial law, with H. Aufhäuser, a private bank, and the bank’s corporate and private customers as main clients. Dietrich von Buttlar became a partner in 1985, later followed by Christian Litke, Dr. Hellmut Pertenhammer (- 2007) and Dr. Michael Holzinger.
